HISTORY OF EASIBAKE

Easibake was established in 1985 by en ex-employee of Tom Chandley - the dominant supplier of electric deck ovens in the UK. R. Brentall took a number of Tom Chandley shop floor employees with him and rented a 3,000 sq. ft. factory unit in Sharston, Manchester. The new company grew rapidly and by 1988 was selling around a third of the number of ovens being sold by the market leader. However, by 1990, poor financial performance had forced it into liquidation.

In 1990, Easibake was absorbed into the Tweedy of Burnley business that had been acquired by Baker Perkins Ltd the year before.
